How to wash

How to wash cashmere

DID YOU KNOW?
It can take the down from three goats to make just one jumper, which is why
cashmere is considered the ultimate luxury.
HOW TO WASH CASHMERE
  1. Remove all bobbles with a pilling comb

  2. Select a gentle washing detergent, designed to wash woollens. Avoid biological detergents, as they contain enzymes that break down protein fibres of cashmere.

  3. Fill a clean sink or bucket with lukewarm water. Add the required amount of detergent and distribute throughout.

  4. Turn the garment inside out and submerge in the water for five to 10 minutes. Do not soak.

  5. Rinse in cool water, until the water runs clear

  6. Squeeze to remove excess water, but do not wring. Lay flat on a dry towel, roll up and press with your palms to remove excess.

  7. Reshape and lay flat to dry – hanging on a line or clothes horse will distort it.

HOW TO STORE CASHMERE
1. Avoid hanging cashmere, as it will distort the fragile fibres and lose the garment's shape.
2. Store folded in the air-tight zip-lock bag provided on purchase. This will also protect against moths.
3. To keep moths away, we recommend using cedar balls in your wardrobe/drawers.
